CRYSTAL LEAF 2008 - RULES AND REGULATIONS:

RESPONSIBILITY will not be accepted by the Organizer for LOSS or THEFT of articles left in changing rooms, ballroom or hotel rooms. Neither will the Organizer be held liable for injuries sustained by persons attending Crystal Leaf Championships. Everyone attends at their own risk. It is each competitor's RESPONSIBILITY to be present at least 30 MINUTES IN ADVANCE of the scheduled time advertised. Competitors entering Crystal Leaf Championships shall accept as final the individual markings of the Judges. A PANEL OF INVIGILATORS will be used for ALL RESTRICTED CATEGORIES. NO VIDEOTAPING will be permitted during Crystal Leaf Championships. VIDEOTAPES can be ordered on the premises.

PROFESSIONAL
All PROFESSIONAL COMPETITIONS are sanctioned by the CDTA. PROFESSIONAL COMPETITORS MUST BE REGISTERED with the CDTA for Canada, with the NDCA for the USA and with the WD&DSC for overseas competitors. PROFESSIONAL RISING STAR is open to all professionals who have not won this competition in the previous year. In the instance where three (3) couples or less are competing in a category, the cash prize will be reduced by one half.

AMATEUR
*All AMATEUR COMPETITORS must be members of IDSF amateur assosiation.
* AMATEUR COMPETITORS must be registered with the Crystal Leaf Championships or with any other recognized amateur association.
* CHAMPIONSHIPS 35 YEARS AND OVER - Both partners must be 35 years in the calendar years.
* INTERNATIONAL STYLE costumes for all amateurs dancers: all amateurs competitions must abide by the CADA /OADA dress code. In the IDSF events the IDSF dress code will be used.
* In Amateur PRE-BRONZE, BRONZE and SILVER, figures, including arms & dance positions as well, are restricted to the ISTD or CDTA SYLLABUS.
* In the AMATEUR GOLD CATEGORY, figures are restricted to the ISTD or CDTA SYLLABUS, plus POPULAR VARIATIONS.

PRO-AM
THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES ARE FOR PRO-AM ONLY.
Pro-Am International Style = Steps should be from Syllabus: ISTD or CDTA. Pro-Am American Style = Steps will be accepted from the following Syllabus: ARTHUR MURRAY Social Syllabus, FRED ASTAIRE Social Syllabus, CDTA Social Syllabus, FLDQ/CPDDSQ Social Syllabus, ALLIANCE Social Syllabus or the Social Syllabus of any recognized Professional Association.

PRO-AM
* NEWCOMERS : Open only to students who have never competed before. Students can compete only once in that category.
* PRO-AM : Separate divisions for LADIES & GENTLEMEN but Championships and Superbowl Scholarships.
* No PRO-AM SOLO EXHIBITIONS or SOLO ROUTINES is to exceed THREE (3) minutes.
* The first three of every Pro-Am category will receive prize.
* There will be NO SUBSTITUTING of a student for another student. Only registered students can compete. Cancellations at the event will not be reimbursed. Official cancellations will be refunded thirty (30) days following the event.
* AWARDS will be presented immediately following each session.
* Ample time will be allowed for costume change.

N.B. The Organizer of Crystal Leaf Championships reserves the right to reject any entry which has been submitted by a Competitor who has been disrespectful towards the Officials and/ or these Regulations.
