We are once again proud to present for the seventh consecutive year the “2008 Crystal Leaf” International Dancesport Championships to be held on April 18th and 19th 2008, at the Doubletree International Hotel in Toronto, Ontario.

If you have not already heard about Crystal Leaf, we are pleased to introduce to you, on of the foremost-recognized Dancesport competition events in Canada, bringing together both accomplished dancers to compete in, and spectators to watch, the various thrilling dance style competitions we call “Dancesport”.

WHAT ARE WE ALL ABOUT?

Crystal Leaf Dancesport Competition started in the city of Toronto, Ontario, in 2000 and has since evolved into succeeding becoming one of the most prestigious dance competition events in Canada.

Our dance competitors come from different parts of the world for the privilege of participating, competing against other formidable accomplished competitors and the chance of winning the much-coveted “Crystal Leaf” dance awards.

Our two-day dancing program events has something for everyone to enjoy, including, amongst other things, dancing competitions from juvenile ages all the way to senior level dancers, all competing in the International Latin and Standard and /or American Style, Rhythm and Smooth divisions, with a complete line of Amateur, Professional and Pro-Am categories.

A BIT OF HISTORY ABOUT US

Last year’s Dancesport Competition event was exceptionally well received as a result of Professional, Amateur and Pro-Am dancers from all across Canada, United States, Bulgaria and Israel participating in our own “Pro Am Dance Competition” event.

The “Pro Am Competition” event showcased and highlighted dance students of all different age groups along with their respective dancing instructors, competing together in one of out four divisions dance style consisting of Latin, Standard, Rhythm and Smooth.

Crystal Leaf 2000, our very first Dancesport event had a modest beginning of about two-hundred dance entry registrations, however, it rapidly grew every year in both popularity and attendance, wherein, last year we were thrilled in welcoming to our “Pro Am Competition” event, thirty-four dance instructors and close to one-thousand and six-hundred dance entrants.

It was a sight to behold for all attending last year.

Newly introduced last year were our Professional dance performances, magnificently performed by some of the most talented and accomplished dancing couples from all parts of North America, to the delight and thrill of the attending spectators.

This year, we are excited to include once again, in adding this Professional Dance performance event to our program, to be names the “ Open Professional Rhythm and Open Smooth Categories”.

All our dance competitions categories will be judged by a known panel of highly respected judges, coming to us from across Canada and as far away as United States, Denmark, Holand, and Belgium.

HOLLYWOOD AND DANCESPORT

We have had thousands of spectators and dance enthusiasts attend our past events, and now with so much more attention and exposure given to “Dancesport ballroom dance” thanks in part to the media and numerous recent Hollywood movies such as, “The Tuxedo” with “Jackie Chan” and “Shall We Dance” with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez that, as a result of this exposure, we optimistically anticipating a surge of new interest by the general public in attending out “2008 Crystal Leaf” Dancesport Competition.
